Sunglasses- Necessary Eye Protection and Eminently Stylish

Sunglasses and goggles

Humans have been protecting their eyes for thousands of years. Protective eyewear has come a long way from when the Inuit of North America cut holes in caribou antlers in order to protect their eyes from snow blindness. Goggles and sunglasses are now designed to protect the wearers eyes from all kinds of dangerous intrusions, both small and large. And increasingly, protective eyewear is designed overwhelmingly as a fashion accessory.

Sunglasses: protecting your eyes, and making them look good at the same time

The primary purpose of sunglasses is to protect your eyes from the harmful ultraviolet radiation given off by the sun. Exposure to ultraviolet radiation can have dire consequences to the health of your eyes, causing problems as diverse as cataracts, photokeratitis, and even a number of eye cancers such as retinoblastoma or melanoma. Fortunately, well made sunglasses can provide adequate protection against the development of all of these problems. The trick for consumers is to find sunglasses that actually provide the desired protection. In order to ensure that you are getting the protection you think you are getting (or that the sunglasses claim to provide), be sure to look for some sort of identifying mark on the sunglasses that shows that the sunglasses have meet the required government regulations for protective standards.

Of course, the great thing about sunglasses is that they can be completely functional and at the same time be completely fashionable. Although there are already a myriad of good reasons why everyone should be wearing sunglasses - the health benefits of wearing sunglasses are well proven and conclusive, and if you have ever tried to drive into the sun you will recognize the importance of using sunglasses to block out the glare - it is good enough for some people to wear sunglasses just because they make them look good. Indeed, sunglasses have an uncanny ability to make anyone immediately cooler just by putting them on.

Sunglasses were first introduced in the 19th century as protective eyewear. It was not until sunglasses were first mass produced and sold to the masses in the 1950s on the beaches in Atlantic City that sunglasses entered the fashion mainstream. Since that time, sunglasses have been a highly sought after accessory, a must have item for any day at the beach. With hipsters like James Dean in the 1950s, sunglasses cemented their image as a cool fashion accessory. Sunglasses became more refined in the 1960s with the oversized styles of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Katherine Hepburn. It says something about the quality of these styles that current fashions are turning back the clock to the original designs. Oversized sunglasses are currently very popular amongst women, and men are even turning back to aviator sunglasses first introduced in the 1930s for American pilots.

As for future developments, designers are starting to think of ways to integrate new technologies into sunglasses. For instance, a number of sunglasses designers have already come out with models that come with an attached earpiece that can either be part of a small MP3 player or part of a Bluetooth enabled cell phone.

Goggles: protecting your eyes

The main purpose of goggles is to protect the wearer's eyes. Goggles are usually designed with larger projectiles in mind, such as dust or chemicals, or in the case of goggles designed for ball sports, sport balls. This makes goggles immediately different from sunglasses, which are more concerned with protecting the wearer's eyes from harmful ultraviolet rays. Goggles are also different from sunglasses in that they have for the most part failed (or even tried) to make the jump into fashionable life. While this may not be completely true for goggles used in outdoor sports such as skiing or waterskiing, this is certainly true for industrial grade goggles, or even goggles designed for use in sports such as basketball or squash. Of course, there will always be some people who think that wearing blowtorching goggles to school is a good fashion statement.

One way that goggles are becoming more like sunglasses, however, is that they are taking into account more and more the protective function of sunglasses in blocking harmful ultraviolet rays. This can be very important with goggles that are used in outdoor sports suck as skiing or waterskiing where the glare of the sun on the snow or water can be debilitating. For this reason, it is important to ensure that when you are buying protective goggles for skiing or waterskiing or the like that the goggles will give you the full protecting from the sun's harmful rays that you need. Consumers can also expect goggles to make the same technological advances that sunglasses are in terms of the integration of new technology such as mobile telephones and MP3 players.

Get The Sunglasses That Suit You Best

Like so many other great ideas, sunglasses were invented in China and came to Europe with Marco Polo. Initially, they were used to hide one's eyes and thoughts. It wasn't until the mid-1700s that they joined hats and umbrellas as sun protection. In the early 20th Century, sunglasses really took off with sun-struck beach-goers and, in the 21st Century, both protection and fashion are equally important.

Modern shades may be marketed under several monikers: "Designer sunglasses" feature the trendiest styles, the highest quality and, usually, the highest price. "Fashion sunglasses" also feature great style, but without the name-brand price. "Sport sunglasses" can be very stylish, but their primary purpose is eye protection and form follows function.

Where fashion is concerned, you can wear any style, but specific styles enhance certain facial types, making a fashion statement that everybody will hear. In the final analysis, however, there are just two questions to ask about dark shades: Do you like the style? Do they compliment your face? If so, they are the right glasses for you.

Suit the shades to fit the features

Though many men are into brand name designer accessories, fact is that women tend to care more about clothing accessories and fashion. So, while the following guidelines refer primarily to ladies, most of the advice is equally applicable to gentlemen. Where sunglasses are concerned, specific styles work best with each of the five basic face shapes. The goal is balance -- wear sunglasses that are what your face is not:

The square faced woman / the strong-jawed man

Epitomized by First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy in the 1960s, she wore oversized sunglasses, popularizing a style still frequently often called the Jackie O. For women, the curvier styles, round or cat's eye, will compliment your angular features. Men usually want a more strong-jawed appearance rather than less, so enhance the effect by wearing sunglasses with sharp angles.

The heart faced woman / the triangular faced man

To balance a wide forehead and narrow chin, choose sunglasses with cat's eye frames or any with well-rounded edges; fashion sunglasses with a wider lower edge and no straight lines along the top work especially well.

The long or oblong face

Round or rectangular lenses in oversized frames are much recommended. Sunglasses with thick frames add width; tall or deep lenses and fashion sunglasses with decorative frames or vintage style also fit.

The round face

On a face with the most noticeable curves, sunglasses should have fewest. Narrow frames, frames with high temples and very colorful frames, like the classic tortoise-shell style, also add definition.

The oval face

Gently rounded curves work with virtually any style from dollar store to designer; those that look best are sunglasses which cover from the eyebrows to the cheekbones.

The first real sunglasses fashion statement was an accident. Aviator style shades were created for the military just before World War II and the glamour of the 'ace' included his fashion accessories. Those who couldn't fly could still try to look cool in mirrored, teardrop-shaped sunglasses. Today's aviator sunglasses make great accessories for almost any face, male or female.

Sunglasses buying tips

Regardless of style, sunglasses should protect your vision. Recent scientific advancements have greatly expanded understanding of the eye, creating materials to defend them.

The bright light of a cloudless day can be painful and distracting, so most people wear sunglasses when outside, especially while driving. At the other end of the spectrum, fog and smoke decrease visibility. The amber lenses which have become popular in recent decades filter out the additional blue light scattered by low-lying clouds, giving drivers a more balanced, clearer view of the road. Polarized sunglasses help cut down the glare of reflected light.

Ultra-violet radiation (known in ads as UVA and UVB) are known contributing factors to cataracts and other eye problems. Look for a UV-rating blocking at least 70-percent of UVA and 60-percent of UVB light. Really good sunglasses claim to block 100-percent of both.

The other main danger is impact damage. Flying debris ranges from annoying (like specks of dust) to sight-threatening (including pebbles kicked up by moving cars). The Food and Drug Administration is the federal agency which sets standards for impact resistance. The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) is a private organization dedicated to producing quality goods in the USA. "FDA compliant" and "ANSI compliant" are great benchmarks for any lenses; especially in sports sunglasses.

Sunglasses are one item where the highest price doesn't always mean the best product: Some designer sunglasses may not include the safety features your eyes deserve. When buying online, you may find so-called discount sunglasses, allegedly from the top names, are, in fact, really cheap sunglasses -- knock-offs instead of the authentic item.

Sunglasses lingo

Frames can be nothing more than thin metal wires that don't even surround the lenses, or they can be large plastic casings that cover much of the face. Most frames are basically flat, so they can be folded into a pocket, but some people prefer the wrap-around styles that fit snugly against the head, entirely enclosing the eyes in shadow. Find something that you feel is well-made and sturdy and you're good to go.

Lenses come in almost every color of the spectrum, including more than one. Glass lenses are still in use, but plastics have taken over most of the market. Polycarbonate lenses are the choice when working in hazardous environments, as they are darn near indestructible.

Bridge: The part of sunglasses that extends across the nose.

Cat's eye: Most common in women's sunglasses; these lenses are wider in the middle than on either side; with a greater curve on the bottom than the top.

Clip-on: Sunglasses that attach to prescription glasses with a mechanical or magnetic clip.

Impact resistant (also "protective glasses" or "safety glasses"): Lenses, usually polycarbonate, designed to absorb an impact. Remember, they are shatter-resistant, not shatter-proof. If you need these, choose only FDA or ANSI compliant sunglasses.

Polarized sunglasses: With a filter between the front and back surface of the lens, horizontally reflected glare is much reduced; very useful near water snow, ice, glass, etc.

Temple: The arm of the sunglasses, running from the ear to the lens frame.

Wrap-arounds: The lenses and temples curve around the head or the temple is about as tall as the lenses; they eliminate peripheral vision but add extra sun protection.

Sunglasses care

High-end sunglasses usually come with a case and a cleaning cloth. Don't throw them away, even if they seem unimportant. The case will protect your new glasses far better than your pocket. The cleaning cloth will clear the sweat and dust off your lenses with the least probability of scratching them. You can also look for lens cleaning solution or wipes that will make your lenses spotless and streak free.

Sunglasses FAQ:

Are mirrored lenses better?

That depends on your attitude. If you're looking to hide your eyes like the medieval Chinese who invented sunglasses, mirrored lenses are definitely the way to go. As for reduced glare or UV protection, they offer no additional protection over colored lenses.

What about gradient lenses?

These have a lot of color on the upper half and less (sometimes no) color on the lower half of the lens. If you're activities vary and you need clear vision mixed with your eye protection, these can be a useful alternative.

What about prescription sunglasses?

Some cost a whole lot more than other corrective eyeglasses, but, if you don't like clip-ons or the new over-your-glasses sunglasses, these are the way to go. If you hate to trade back and forth every time you walk through a door, photochromic lenses have a coating which darkens in bright light and becomes clear again in low light.

5 Brands of Sunglasses that you may love

style and sunglasses

Shield your baby blues in style with cool-kid shades that are way more than meets the eye. These sunglasses aren’t shady at all when it comes to the core values of integrity, sustainability, and social responsibility. Behind their handsome frames is a range of initiatives that give back — in more ways than one — providing a whole new way of seeing the world with 20/20 vision.

1. Woodzee

makers mark wooden sunglasses

Before we even scratched the surface of Woodzee’s dedication to protecting the environment through the use of natural, renewable resources and nontoxic materials, we were already sold on the impressive collections that include chill wayfarer-style frames made from bamboo and a full set of colorful shades created from re-purposed maple wood skateboard decks.

However, it’s the American-made brand’s new collaboration with Maker’s Mark that really commanded our gaze. You can have your drink and wear it too with these unique, hand-charred sunglasses crafted from the small-batch bourbon whiskey company’s recycled wooden barrels. As if you needed any more reason to order up a pair, Woodzee plants a tree for each and every pair of sunglasses sold. Going against the grain never looked so good.

2. Grown

sunglasses style

Creating the change they wanted to see in the world, a passionate group of Australian-based surfers rallied together to launch Grown, a company that designs, produces, and provides original, organic, and sustainable wooden eyewear that not only looks awesome but “does good,” too. You may recognize the company from Shark Tank, where it showed off its socially conscious sunglasses that are handcrafted from ethically sourced, renewable bamboo and hardwoods.

What stands out most about the shades is their unique, one-of-a-kind grain patterns from woods including carved maple, zebrawood, and Pacific ebony. But the real eye-opener is the company’s responsible capitalism. With every item purchased, Grown fully funds sight-restoring eye surgery for one person or diagnostic eye exams for 12 children.

3. Warby Parker

Warby Parker sunglasses

The Warby Parker model is simple — and simply impactful for its domino effect. You buy a pair of glasses; they give a pair to someone in need. Not a bad exchange, especially when their frames are known for being some of the most trendsetting on the block.

Take, for instance, the retro Winston in a ginger lemonade hue that’s the exact fusion of 1960s cool and 21st century bold, and the oversized swagger of the whiskey tortoiseshell Lowrys that ooze pure attitude. Or go classic mod with the angular Halfords, which are inspired by the iconic aviator shades.

The options truly are endless, and with its try-at-home program, you can choose up to five sunglasses to order online and take for a test drive.

4. Parkman Sunglasses

Source: Growndesigns.com

Ever wonder what happens to the leftover wood in the guitar-making process? No, you probably don’t. But Parkman Sunglasses knew exactly what to do with those wood scraps, turning them from trash to treasure in a collaboration with Patterson Guitars. Both Parkman and Patterson share a passion for handcrafted, American-made products so the match was a perfect fit — as are the resulting “Bombay” shades.

Made from the mahogany bodies and rosewood fretboards of the guitars, the frames have the distinct benefit of being both environmentally responsible and naturally beautiful. In the same vein, Parkman has imbued old vinyl records with a bright new tune, re-fashioning them into another version of the “Bombay” model. We’d recommend snagging both pairs so you can channel your inner guitar hero and hipster DJ, depending on which mood may strike.

5. Dick Moby

sunglasses

When surfers Tim Holland and Robbert Wefers-Bettink were angered by the sheer amount of plastic waste floating in the ocean, they decided to take matters into their own hands and find the “sunny side of plastic” with Dick Moby. Indeed, plastic never looked better than in this Amsterdam-based, sustainable sunglasses label that will immediately land you in the street-style club with a single pair of their shades.

The all-black frames are constructed of 97% recycled industrial plastic waste while the colorful bio-acetate versions are the epitome of hipster cool with punchy hues including chalk, forest, peach, and ink. All handmade in Italy, they feature a variety of quirky, retro frame shapes named for and inspired by iconic cities and their airports — think LAX, LHR, ORY, SFO, and more.

In addition to making good use of old plastic, Dick Moby gives 10% of revenues to innovative projects to address plastic pollution in collaboration with the Surfrider Foundation and Terra Cycle. Last year, they even also organized 30 beach cleanups and collected more than 5,200 gallons of plastic waste on beaches. We’ll catch that wave any day.

Uvex Variotronic S Sunglasses

Gear of the Show 2015: Uvex Variotronic S Sunglasses

The Variotronic S uses a light sensor that toggles between two tints automatically, unless you want to control it manually.

We've long been fans of Uvex's light-sensitive Vario lenses, which get lighter or darker depending on the conditions. The only drawback to the photochromic technology: a slow transition from dark to light, which can make high-contrast riding difficult.

Uvex has cracked that problem with a new LCD lens that toggles instantaneously between dark and light. Powered by a USB-rechargeable battery, which is inconspicuously hidden in the frames and is said to last up to 50 hours on a single charge, the Variotronic S shifts from 64 percent light transmission in its brightest state to 16 percent light transmission in its dark mode—and the change happens in one-tenth of a second. The auto setting uses a light sensor to toggle between the two tints, though there's also a small button on the underside of the left temple that allows you to make the switch manually.

Best of all, the Variotronic S glasses look and feel like any other riding shades. The lenses will initially come in just two models, a full-frame version and sport shield, both of which have excellent coverage, fully adjustable nose pads, and non-slip rubberized temples.

Sunglasses to Shield the Sun in Style

Gigi Hadid, Raven-Symone, Sunglasses, ESC

Think about it: Shading your eyeballs from the sun is kind of a no-brainer, but chances are that while you're carefully curating your next-day outfit, the last thing you're thinking about is what kind of fashion statement you're making with your sunglasses. Well, it's time to prioritize your style goals. Sunnies, after all, are your "most important commuter accessory," according to E! Style Collective style expert Lindsay Albanese.

Need proof? Take a glance at head-turners like Raven-Symoné and Gigi Hadid who top off even the most basic of T-shirt and jeans combos with "over-the-top statement shades that are all about dressing for the element of impact," said Lindsay.

VIDEO: How to look like a Hollywood siren for under $30

Sunglasses are an essential and very practical element in your wardrobe, and unlike a trendy top or skirt that won't get much mileage, you can pick a flamboyant pair and re-wear them day after day without getting tired of them. "You don't have to consider dress codes or anything like that, so all fashion rules go out the window," insisted Lindsay.

If this is your first foray into statement sunnies territory, "dip your toes in the trend by going with a mirrored lens or a clear frame in a classic retro shape like the cat-eye or wayfarer, easing your way into the more artistic, obscure versions."
Sunglasses

For veteran shady ladies, challenge yourself to step out of your comfort zone and opt for an intermediate style—something that's a little bolder than just a reflective lens, like an out-of-the-box shape or a festive pattern.

Fashion risk-takers in the advanced category know that "the purpose of statement shades is to be artistic and to make an impression," said Lindsay. At this level, candy-colored frames in asymmetrical shapes might seem a bit over the top, but, hey, isn't that the point?

NEWS: Why Hollywood will always love its contouring

Regardless of how out-there you want to go, Lindsay assured us that no style is "too much" and that "the only rule in the sunglasses equation is that you have to have the confidence to wear them." Luckily, with no hard-and-fast rules to follow, upgrading your look in one simple step is a cinch.

Taylor Swift Thrills London

The weather in Great Britain is known to be completely atrocious for three out of four seasons, so after spring has sprung and things start heating up, there’s an unquenchable desire to celebrate the simple things – like wearing t-shirts and shorts whilst enjoying an ice cream simultaneously.

British Summer Time, or BST as it’s fondly known, is now in its third year following two successful runs after the grounds were monopolized for the 2012 Olympic Games festivities. The Strokes, Blur, and Kylie Minogue have all headlined their own respective days of this almost fortnight-long festival, but only tonight’s headliner Ms. Taylor Swift, has completely sold it out; and weeks in advance at that. After all, she’s one of the biggest pop stars in the world, this is the first time she’ll debut her 1989 tour in the English capital, and in her spare time she wins battles with gargantuan corporations like Apple.

The demographic of a Taylor Swift fan is a curious thing. The women to men ratio is exactly what you’d imagine: women. Mainly. Yummy mummies with their pampered children, single young professionals with their friends and an almighty plethora of pre-pubescent teenage girls. ‘Taylor Swift’ is painted on various faces and limbs, lovingly handmade banners are held, coloured fairly lights are sewn into both clothing and signs, there’s a sea of official merchandise from this tour and those previous and even a smattering of official “TS” cheerleader outfits from the “Shake It Off” video. It’s an impressive army by anyone’s standards indeed.

Swift eagerly takes to the stage a full 15 minutes earlier than scheduled. It’s somewhat poignant that in Hyde Park, the piece of land that Central Park was modelled on, she begins with “Welcome to New York”. Above her signature smiling red lipstick, sunglasses adorn her giddy face and she dances up a storm in a sparkly green bomber jacket over a high-waisted purple skater skirt and a modest black bra top with shimmery black ankle boots. When the opening song wraps she animatedly pulls off her shades. Cue her predictable shocked face. But it’s not annoying anymore, it’s an intrinsic part of her image and right now, it’s fairly charming.

She launches into “New Romantics”, one of the bonus tracks from the deluxe edition of1989, followed by her high-charting single “Blank Space” which see dancers each pushing large mobile frames out onto the catwalk for Swift to weave in and out of, drawing symmetry to the music video whilst menacingly wielding a golf club.

Next is the track that arguably catapulted her to global superstardom, the crushing heartbreak anthem “I Knew You Were Trouble” from the Red album. The poppy Max Martin-produced single is almost unrecognisable when it begins. Swift slumps down onto the catwalk, sitting back to back with a male dancer, beads of sweat now visible on her brow as she sings the track darkly, multiple octaves lower and over minimal instrumentation. So sombre and resonating, that it’s almost gothic.

In between songs Swift could almost give Kanye West a run for his money with her monologues about love and self-worth. The main difference is that they aren’t focused on her; they’re focused on sending waves of motivation and positivity to her fans.Loud drops of rain pour from the stage screens and a graphic of a large bridge is prominent whilst male dancers in grey suits and bowler hats, twirl with transparent umbrellas. Swift emerges in a pink crop top and matching pink ‘50s diner skirt, both flash LED lights as she sweetly performs “I Wish You Would” and “How You Get the Girl”.

She follows with by far her raciest number yet, a white sweetheart tube top with white short shorts with over-the-knee black boots that evolve into black suspenders. Providing the entertainment at the annual Victoria’s Secrets shows in New York in 2013 and London in 2014 has clearly rubbed off on Swift, because now not only does she ooze kink and sex-appeal, but she can really strut those seemingly never-ending pins. Which are insured for a cool 40 million dollars.

The catwalk breaks away from the stage to extend and rise over the audience, slowly moving in a semi-circle while Swift’s acoustic guitar gently weeps bonus track “You Are in Love” and the crowd sing backing lyrics upon her instruction. To showcase her multi-instrumentalist talents, she then plays a keyboard and reworks “Love Story”, one of the hits from her second album “Fearless’” to keep it consistent with the sound of 1989. An inspired choice, and throwing an older song into tonight’s set not only shows a tangible division between old and new fans, but also that Swift hasn’t forgotten her country music roots.

Clad in an unforgivingly tight leather catsuit, she performs “Bad Blood”. Swift lays, slides and purrs on thick slabs of rectangular glass, which are moved around the stage by her dancers in representation to the music video minus the rap.

Promotional Sunglasses Are Available

With all the variety you'll want to know ahead of time what the differences are between tinted, reflective, photochromic and polarizing lenses. Of course the style of frame and size of lenses will be obvious differences when shopping for sunglasses. It will also be important to know exactly what purpose you'll be using your sunglasses.
Everyone is at risk for sun related eye problems. People who spend long hours in the sun during work or outdoor activity are at higher risk, than someone who is working indoors all day long. Other people may be at higher risk of eye damage if they are on certain medications such as; tetracycline, birth control pills, diuretics and sulfa drugs.

Whatever sunglasses you select they should provide the most possible UV protection possible. It's good to find a pair of glasses that block the sun from all angles, best achieved with a large framed pair that wrap around the face. Gray tints are generally used as an all- purpose tints reducing the overall brightness with the least amount of color distortion. The gray lenses are a good lens for general use and driving. Brownish and amber tints are another example of good all-purpose glasses.

The reason the process is called half-silvered is because the reflective molecules applied over the glass is distributed evenly but only half the glass is covered because of the speckled process. Thus the surface will reflect only about half the light striking the surface, letting the other half go through the glasses. The lenses have millions of molecules of substances such as silver halide or silver chloride. When the lenses are exposed to UV rays from the sunlight, the molecules embedded in the lenses undergo a chemical reaction causing them to absorb light thus darkening.

However, if you avail yourself of several offers, you could accumulate a sizeable collection of designer sunglasses and not pay one penny for them. Online prices are cheaper so it will seem as if you are getting the sun glasses wholesale. If it doesn't matter what kind of sunglasses you get, then you can do a search through many sites to find the lowest price sunglasses. If you and a friend team up to place the order, you get the designer sunglasses you want for half price or sunglasses wholesale.

You Can Try To Choose A Pair Of Sunglasses For Your Semi Formal Dress

Semi formal dress is a murky fashion category that can include cocktail parties, church services and weddings. It can be hard to know what's too informal or too dressy, especially because there are so many new rules for evening chic. Having a precise idea of semi-formal dress can keep you looking appropriate for the occasion.

Think of formal dress in terms of "more": more shine, more length, more fullness and more complicated to wear. A formal dress is constructed along complex lines from more expensive textiles. Semi-formal dresses, however, are cheaper to buy, usually doesn't require a special bra or crinoline and is simpler to maintain. Optimally, a semi formal garment is a completely off-the-rack piece of apparel, requiring few alterations. Formal dresses, on the other hand, often needs tailoring to look the way it should.

Good styles for semi formal wear include short prom dresses, jumpsuits and special occasion suits. Clothing may be snug-fitting or short; in this category, a shopper may see mini-dresses and other lengths that end slightly above the knee. Commonly, full-length and ballroom-type skirts are formal. A good rule of thumb for semi formal is to keep the dress length above the floor–tea-length dresses are at the limit of semi formal.

A semi formal suit will usually have a closer fit than a formal or business suit, and may have more ornate buttons and trims. Semi-formal suits are more versatile in style, with cropped or long jackets and bottoms that veer away from the straight, boxy business cut.

Semi formal fabric types include satin, velvet, silk jersey, silk and georgette. There aren't a lot of sequins and beading in semi formal dress, but there might be small amounts. Lace is also a popular semi formal fabric. Stretch fabrics are commonplace. Some cotton weaves are appropriate, especially if the fabric has a pretty sheen or finish. Stay away from most other cottons, including denim and twill; they're not formal enough.

This is the time to leave the diamond-encrusted baubles behind. Semi formal dresses call for accessories that aren't intimidating and overpowering, but you still need to pay more attention to choose them, if you wear it to a beach wedding party, you can try to choose a pair of suitable and fashionable sunglasses, they may make your dress more shining. Cocktail rings are also the nice touch, and so are pieces that include feathers and a small amount of shine.

Shoes can be flat or heeled, but avoid wearing any styles that look like day shoes. A good rule of thumb is this: if they fit in at the office or school, they're not formal enough.

How To Distinguish Fake Sunglasses

Have you ever wondered how to spot fake sunglasses and avoid paying big bucks for replicas? If yes, then have a look at the following article for some tips on spotting fake sunglasses.I met a friend the other day and she was ecstatic about her new Gucci sunglasses. She bought these stylish fashion accessories costing several hundred dollars for just a few bucks. It did look like the real ones, but on close observation, I found it was a fake. Many unsuspecting shoppers are taken for a ride by street traders, small shop owners, etc. who sell replicas instead of the genuine designer accessories. The authentic costs a bomb and these replicas cost half their original price. But, doesn't this mean you can save a lot on money? Yes, you do, but at the price of your eye health. These rip offs are made of cheap glasses that can damage your vision to some extent. If you want to learn how to spot fake sunglasses, then the following tips will prove to be a helpful read.

A Good Bargain or Cheap Deal?
If you buy designer sunglasses or even regular sunglasses, they are made up of special lenses. These lenses help protect the eye from harmful UV rays. However, the replicas and fake glasses are made of very cheap lenses that do more damage than good. They allow UV rays to hit your eyes as well as the poor lens quality puts more pressure on the pupils. Thus, in the end one develops vision problems. So, spotting fake sunglasses is very important if you wish to save your eyes from damage. The following pointers are to be kept in mind, every time you are handed over a designer sunglass by a seller you are not confident about.

All in the PriceThe first give away of a fake sunglass is its price tag. A Gucci, Prada, D&C, Chanel, etc. will cost a few hundred dollars. And even with a heavy discount, an original will still cost a couple of hundred dollars. Thus, when you are being sold a designer sunglass for just $20, it is bound to be a rip off. An authentic Gucci will obviously not be sold for a throw away price.

Label Me TrueThe next big indicator for fake sunglasses is the logo and label. You will find there is a slight misspelling of the logo or the generic label. This means 'D&C' becomes 'DC' or 'Chanel' becomes 'Channel'. Thus, make sure you know your brands well before you go shopping. Many times, even the text is not so clear and crisp like it would be on the originals.

Change Me BadIt is advisable to have a look at the sunglasses photos on the official designer website as well as designer magazines. This will give you an idea about the authentic designs. The fakes although appear similar, they are not exactly the same. There is slight variation in the designs and colors. You will even find these sunglasses come in colors that are not mentioned in the designer's official website or magazines.

Do I Look CheapThe original sunglasses will be made up of the best material in the market. When you look at the hinges and the quality of the metal or plastic, it oozes style and sturdiness. However, the fakes look too cheap and the hinges appear too delicate. The glasses appear they may break off very soon.

Don't Forget to Tag MeDesigner's have a habit of tagging their wares. It's a way to tell the buyer, you are buying a genuine accessory. If this tag is missing or appears fake, it means you are being sold a rip off. Keep your wallet back into your purse, these sunglasses are a total waste.

Packaging MattersThe first thing one notices when buying a genuine designer product is the packaging before leaving a shop. If one pays through the nose for these designer sunglasses, they expect the product to be handed over in the best packaging available. You may be given a complimentary case or box with the designer logo printed over it. However, if you are being given a cheap quality case or box without a logo or misspelled logo, it means you are being fleeced.

Look Who's SellingWhen buying designer sunglasses, one visits an up town mall or departmental stores and exclusive boutiques. One does not expect Gucci to sell their wares with street vendors or small retail stores. A genuine product is never sold at a heavily discounted price no matter what it is. This is one big give in that the product is a fake.

These are some of the pointers for spotting fake sunglasses. You should also have a look at the Made in …. tag. This will give you an idea if this is an authentic accessory. Most rip offs are made in Far Eastern regions, whereas the originals are actually produced on the other end of the world. Make sure you keep the above tips on how to spot fake sunglasses in mind. This will help you spend precious bucks by investing only in the genuine, authentic, designer sunglasses.

Knocc Out and Brotha Lynch Hung became synonymous with Locs glasses.

Historically, Locs always had an all-black, hard core gangster style look with thicker frames and the famous logo. One reason for this growing popularity is that A-list rappers like Ice Cube, Ice-T and Snoop Dogg have been able to cross over into film and television while sporting their hard-core Locs shades.

Miami now gets weekly shipments of Locs sunglasses to keep up with demand. The California-based distributor markets the brand specifically on the Locs category page a.
